Has no one even thought yet that... maybe simply allowing Ukraine to be taken by Russia?

They've been apart of Russia in the past, correct?

Or given a position like Hong Kong is to China?

Why force Russia to exhaust all resources to simply have a chance to say, Ukraine, Russia in their amazon address accounts?

Is it really that important?

What exactly changes when Ukraine has to add the name Russia in their online mailing accounts? No more swastika tattoos for postal workers?

Is that really all that bad?

I agree, Ukraine only became a country in my lifetime and I think only half of that. I don't really like it, but then again I didn't like what the Ukraine was doing before the Russians attacked them. The Donbass is a #hole, nearly everyone that lives there is Russian (same with Crimea), let them have it and stop this nonsense.

Come on AM that's not parallel here, well at least Russia isn't capable of the domination that Nazi Germany posed. ie different situations at different times. In 1937 Hitler could have pushed Nazi Germany all the way to the English Channel. Now Putin can barely hold captured territory in Ukraine

Putin isn't trying to take all of Europe he doesn't have the army for it, he is somewhat impotent now and stuck between a rock and a hard place all after he got exactly what he wanted, that eastern slice of Ukraine.

Like Hitler? hell, Hitler would be enjoying the summer in Paris by now, and already be thinking about Operation Sea Lion. Granted some of the other territory captured in Europe might be glowing by now.

Like I said from the beginning Putin had a legitimate beef, it just didn't warrant an invasion. Now he has bit off more than he can chew. But I do think he had bad intel or seriously thought he would have less of a fight on his hands.

Why would anyone consider that when the whole proxy war is playing out perfectly for all the usual suspects.

He's been on an expansionist policy for decades and he has made it clear his ambition is the restoration of the failed Soviet Union.

I feel like the answer to this question has something to do with Russia invading the Ukraine.

yup the cash cow keeps giving , and we keep pumping more money into the swamp.
So # knows what will happen with all that hardware after it cools down.
Much like all the hardware we left for the taliban , who knows which rebel groups/terror cells hands they will fall into.

meanwhile all the top players take their cuts from our tax wealth and we swallow the lie we are fighting for democracy
the voters queue up to vote for more war and economic failures and bank bail outs , food crisis and death

Exactly!

We've ignored a lot of things in the past... why not this?

Of course, creating a mutual bond of civility is more important. But if that is not an option (personally, it is tyranny to be against this to everyone and not just one's own government), taking sides like its a game of kickball deserves the harshest punishment. Condoning, of any sort, is a crime against humanity of the highest order.

Allow whatever to ensue and the rest of the world, through a mutual pact, hold the tyrants accountable. 50 years. Bread and water. No pepto.

It doesn't matter what he believes and his expansionist policies are, it matters what his armed forces are actually capable of. He can't take Europe, hell he still has Ukraine chomping on his cajones.

THEORETICALLY, If he stayed conventional NATO/Europe could probably take him with minimal assistance from the US even in a defensive posture.

If Ukraine becomes the sacrificial lamb he can reallocate resources and try somewhere else in a year or two.

Perhaps is not that bad. But we do as we please, not what somebody else pleases. And we like to do bad things. It is in our nature. What part of we do as we please don't you understand?

You seem to be still holding on that mainstream news media narrative that Russia is between a rock and a hard place.

Like I said from the beginning Putin had a legitimate beef

There many Russians who will never a tolerate a Pro Western puppet that was like Boris Yeltsin who many saw as a legitimate drunken fool led by US.

You should ask your politicians why people like Soros had plans in Ukraine before the conflict in Ukraine?
Rather amusing for a billionaire like him to have plans in motion.
