I hate to point out the obvious but when people can't afford to pay for gas or food or medicine, crime is going to skyrocket. Normal people who would never commit a crime are going to be violently trying to rob and steal to support their families. On top of non perishable items I would stock up on all the ammo you can. You may just need it more than anything very soon.

I'm trying to imagine Mad Max, but with Karens.

I don't know whether to laugh or vomit.

I tried to tell you. But the 81 million wanted Brandon. At least with Vermin Supreme we would have had ponies to ride to get through this mess. But no, we have to shovel up Joe’s road apples.

A few dollars more and there will be plenty of gas available....for the ones who can afford it. Wasn't it Obama that said he wanted to see gas 8 to 10 per gallon to force people to change their lifestyles to clean and green?

As if he leads a clean and green life, right?

I just saw an articke the other day how the Obamas have bought another multi-million dollar mansion. Seems they're feeling the hard times too.

It's hard to get lower income people to buy a electric car it will be alot easier when gas is 10$ a gallon

The green leap forward marches on no matter the cost

Low income people will probably get a voucher which covers 98% of the purchase price of an EV. The rest of us will have to come up with the 40k+ to buy our own.

The one thing I see even if prices continue to go up, this will be a huge slap in the face to the Left. And it won't soon be forgotten. I just had to pay $67.00 to fill my gas tank that used to cost me around $36.00 a year or two ago.

This may be a stupid question, but if the prices stay high, even as oil had dropped here or there, yet the oil companies are again seeing record profits this quarter,I think one was 33 billion. Can't anything be done about that? That's not just greed or gouging? Sorry this is not my area of any kind of knowledge. I do understand that taxes are added to the gas to pay for the state road infrastructure and such as well.

Considering they are literally taking some of America and selling it for vast profits and giving nothing in return. Socialise the losses, privatise the profits.

Even us Aussies are chipping in for the fuel companies at 2.19 a litre.

Gotta keep the tank full.

Thanks Trump for the record high gas prices !!!!

Everyone knows that trumps willingness to open the keystone pipeline and bringing more product to market is the reason why oil prices increased.

Luckily for us super popular 1 trillion voter supported Biden immediately killed the keystone pipeline. Imagine where the cost of oil would be if Joe had not killed the keystone pipeline which could produce more oil than even Russia could provide . Everyone with a prestigious lbtqu interracial transgendered she hulk phd degree knows that the worse thing to bring the cost down is to add more product to the market.

you know what would be really cool as well . If uncle Joe would borrow money that we don't have and pay interest to give money to other countries over helping our own tax payers. I bet if Joe borrows money we don't have he will pay off college loans and provide free healthcare.

Should I feel too bad about the people who ran out and bought themselves a gas guzzler after the previous fuel crisis that had everyone demanding Hybrids? What would Americans do if they had to pay European fuel rates?

I am going a different route with all this.

You want lower prices? STAY THE FUUK HOME!

Remember when prices dropped in 2020? It was because the demand fell through the floor. So what is the solution to this problem? Stay home. Stop running around all the time. Go to work, play with your kids at home, do more things at home. Don't drive needlessly to bolster their economy. The US needs to show these elites (and big business) who runs the show. Stop running around like there isn't a huge problem coming.

I'm tired of all the people who complain.
You are the problem.

There is only one true solution if this increase is due to the "market".
Demand has to drop.

We are the solution.
You either get it or you don't.

That really only scratches the surface of the many many problems

It's not that the goal is impossible it's the timeline if the entire world dedicated all it's resource to this one problem it would still take at least 20 years

As far as bikes go to put it simply living things have poor efficiency the system as it is now couldn't support everyone burning 3k calories just to go to work

electric bikes.

cheap.

And the oil companies flat out state they will not drill more because they want maximum profits.

Many oil and gas executives say they have little interest in increasing oil production — even at crude's near-record prices, which make extraction very profitable for their companies."Forty percent of respondents don't think that a price of $120 a barrel, which is very profitable from what we know about the marginal cost of shale production, is enough to increase output," said Paul Ashworth, chief North America economist for Capital Economics.

As to why they weren't drilling more, oil executives blamed Wall Street. Nearly 60% cited "investor pressure to maintain capital discipline" as the primary reason oil companies weren't drilling more despite skyrocketing prices, according to the Dallas Fed survey.

In Exxon's latest earnings call, in February, CEO Darren Woods emphasized the oil and gas giant's focus on profitability over volume of oil.

"One of the primary objectives we've had ... is less about volume and volume targets and more about the quality and profitability of the barrels that we're producing," Woods told investors.

December. -10 degrees F. 7 am and 5 miles to work. Not gonna happen. At least in Venezuela it's tropical all year around.

Most of the advanced 1st world is standing on top of a Jenga tower of logistics. Food, water, fuel, clothing, parts, industrial goods, and other stuff. Knock out too many pieces and it's going to collapse. And people will die when it does.

Everyone is giving Biden a lot of credit (and power) if they think he directly caused a GLOBAL fuel shortage and GLOBAL spike in fuel prices.

The oil and refining companies do not care about the shortages and price hikes.

They are reaping in the profits and are going to continue doing so.

Exxon had record profits and record revenue the last 2 quarters.

I can tell you as a fuel hauler that things are indeed getting bad, this year we’ve been having more supply issues than I’ve seen in a long time. The fuel terminals themselves can not get enough fuel out of the pipeline and are de facto rationing fuel to companies. Just this weekend one of the terminals is going to be completely shutdown until they can get product from the pipeline they are estimating at least an 18 hour shutdown. Price fluctuations are also extreme, our company is having to run loads out of terminals out of state adding several hundred miles to some stations runs. Truly crazy times to be part of the 1203 placard tribe.

The Democrats are using up all the emergency strategic oil reserves.

Wait until there is a real emergency.
