The deadly bow-and-arrow attack carried out by a Danish suspect in a small Norwegian town yesterday that claimed the lives of five people "currently appear[s] to be an act of terrorism," Norway's national security agency announced Thursday.

The suspect – a Muslim convert who was previously flagged as having been radicalized, according to police – is accused of having shot at people in a number of locations in the town of Kongsberg on Wednesday evening. Several of the victims were in a supermarket, police said.

Can't find a gun, but really want to kill people? There is always a way. Bad people do bad things, and they use whatever they can find to do those bad things. I can't imagine how far we could get if we actually focused on the problem, and tried to find a solution, rather than attack the tool sometimes used. At some point, we all need to wake up and realize there is a fight, but most have been screaming at the wrong ones.

Prayers for those who were killed by this coward.

A guy in China stabbed 120+ people (many died don't remember how many) in a school shortly after Sandy Hook if I remember correctly. Most of the victims were children.

Blaming tools for what people do is an amazing stretch of stupidity.

My husband told me about this story this morning. If the
PTB do succeed in taking our guns,we could start looking
into bows and arrows, clubs and sticks, rocks and boulders...

Seeing the guy who shot these people with a bow and arrow
is a muslim,he'll get away with it,claiming mental illness.

One report I saw earlier when I had the TV on actually pointed out that if you hear gunshots you can get away from the area but arrows are silent.

You could be walking right into range with no clue that you're in danger.

Anyway, glad they caught him and condolences to the victims.

also. "Apparently" he was known to authorities and they were aware of his radicalisation.
I say apparently because it's usually better to wait for later reports when more facts are available rather than the first few.

They ain't taking my guns. If if they try I'm taking out as many with me as I can. These people they send to collect our weapons won't stay in their positions long if every time they show up to a house a few of them don't go back to their families.

They have to blame an inanimate object.

Otherwise they wont be able to move forward with their agenda to disarm the people.

In Florida alone, thousands of firearms have been confiscated under the Republican Red Coat bill.

To support your title:

licensed gun owner kills 5 link

Gun phobia is a real thing, hoplophobia... I have arachnophobia ironically one way I've managed it is by declaring war on spiders and destroying them on sight, which is rather stupid admittedly.

But I do have an irrational fear of spiders so there's that. I'd just like to add that no matter how many times we go around this merry ride the fact remains that guns can be deadly in the wrong hands and access to firearms makes murdering easy.

Being a farmer makes homemade bombs a little more accessible too, a vehicle can be a weapon, bricks on the side walk also, hell the pavement proves to be the deadliest thing in many fist fights.

I'm for restricted access and accountability, I see why there's issues regarding that in the US. I agree, we often focus on the wrong things.

That's your perception, I doubt he'd get away with it although I'd support the mental illness hypothesis because in all likelihood he was a deluded fool.

That said Norway has really nice jails.

Something must be done about Arrow violence.

Mandatory background checks, and waiting periods, and their optics must have a 6 month wait since it makes them more deadly.

It's for the children.

thanks for the link. And that happened in a place that took extraordinary measures to limit weapons.
If you strip away the gang shootings in the US, the actual "bad man with a gun" stories become harder to find.
There is no doubt that a nutter with a gun can kill people easily, but then apparently a nutter with a bow and arrow can as well. Maybe it's the nutter?

Tell your husband, "Deeds, not words".

It makes it harder to prove premeditation.

How about Mama's assault cookies? When I was a young
girl and learning to bake cookies. My first few batches
were like hockey pucks, very hard and deadly if thrown.
Could give new meaning to death by chocolate nowadays.

I would've shot everyone of your cookies with a bolt action cross bow.

During WWII the French Underground was given "pancake mix". Pancake Mix was an explosive that could be used for sabotage. The reason that it was called "pancake mix" was that it was a powder that looked like pancake mix and in a pinch it could be used to MAKE PANCAKES. That made it easy to hide and if it came to it, you could make pancakes to prove that was all that it was. Now if we could get that recipe and adapt it a little, those cookies could give "death by chocolate" an entirely different meaning.

That's the exact thought that first popped in my head when I read this.

Also, if you're unlucky enough to stumble upon this situation, once you do realize what you've walked into, you're still not gonna know exactly where it came from. You may not even know the general direction, because the people already hit most likely fell down, or turned, and moved.

Proof that guns don't kill people, people kill people

Back in the 18th and 19th centuries we found out that
people with guns kill people with bows an arrows at a much higher
rate. With the exception of General Custer's patrol at Little Big Horn
I don't know what happened there. Gun jammed ran out of bullets
or maybe just drunk off his ass and missed a lot.

But ya he's dead now as many famous historians have said.
