She really is a democratic socialist in everything she says. Moreover, 99% of the time i agree with the issues she points out. Where we diverge is typically in solutions, because im not democratic socialist.

I dont hear her push fascist notions. She lies like a politician, but thats about it. Shes not even stupid. Shes pretty smart. But she has stupid ideas she promotes.

Her agenda is self-serving that has nothing to do with constituents. She does nothing in Congress, they have her basically on nothing, just a glory seeker to try and secure her job for the next 50 years.

She weeps at the border under Trump, but with Biden that is 10 times worst its basically and afterthought. Cuba is more like don't let those filthy conservatives into our country...

This American is baffled by the shock and outrage over the expression of unpopular opinions in a country that prides itself on free speech. Making audacious statements is the bread and butter of the 1st amendment.

The left love the 1st as long as you agree with them.

Is that why this topic was posted? Because conservatives are completely accepting and encouraging of opposing points of view?

Not outrage. Not at all. Just pointing out the blatant and glaring hypocrisy of the left's positions.

Contrast how they treat Cuban defectors (true asylum seekers fleeing state persecution) with the other folks South of the border who they encourage to come here. How many times did they scream "racist!" because we insisted on sending back non-genuine asylum claims?

It is the hypocrisy I have a problem with. And its on display for all to see.

Isn't it also my free speech right to point this out in the biggest, loudest way possible?

Meet dumb and dumber the officials within the democratic party in power, to think they are in charge of our nation, just gives me the creeps.

Is about time Cubans take matters in their own hands take over the government, maybe many in the US will learn what communist and socialism is all about.

WE have a problem with opposing points of view??

Please remind me who shows up to stifle free speech? Remember the antifa clowns trying to run Milo out of town in CA? How about the dozens of times antifa goons showed up at conservative events to start fights and disrupt them?

Yeah, we have the problem with free speech. Not even close.

We encourage folks to say whatever they want when they want. Its the left who has created an entire "critical XYZ theory" to explain exactly why free speech, individualism, objectivity, grit, etc are actually "racist" concepts. Pathetic!

What does accepting mean? I personally do not need to accept your beliefs, but then I don't DOX you, canx you, remove you from social media, go all WOKE/KAREN/SJW on you so on and so forth.

Outside of Jan 6 (which was rather week riot) not much going on in that area for the last 4 years compared to liberals too.

AMEN!

They need their own version of the recent events in Haiti. Have to be plenty of gear and training leftover from CIA's failed attempts on Castro over the years.

It is their inherent right as human beings to band together in armed resistance to overthrow their dictatorship

There's nothing in the 1st amendment that says your free speech has to provide a useful service to the public. In that sense, both you and AOC are equally entitled to your meaningless displays. There is such a thing as "Well, that's stupid but hardly deserving of a serious reaction". In a word, YouTube. You are ironically investing, reinforcing and ultimately enabling something you want canceled while utilizing that service to talk about why canceling it is enabling your own values. Enjoy that recursive loop.

For the record, "biggest loudest way possible" = outrage

I would imagine that "accepting" means we hear it and immediately agree that it is the original fount of all wisdom passed down through the ages and we can't believe we were ever stupid enough to think anything else.

My interactions with many on the "left" on this topic has been.. interesting.

Some might criticise the government of Cuba with a quick statement, but will quickly move to blaming the US for quite literally everything.

By the way they talk about it, one would think that Cuba would literally be building Dyson Spheres around the sun if it wasnt for the pesky US

Im not sure embargoes are particularly effective in their stated purpose, but where it really matters is how goods would be distributed once it actually hits the affected region. As with places like Haiti, we see this with abundant, brutal clarity.

I believe we should absolutely accept legitimate refugees and asylum seekers from pretty much any region, including Cuba. Of course, this process has become so exploited both on-the-ground and politically that its a massive problem and legitimate refugee status is blurred.

Beyond that, I dont believe the US should get involved in such affairs. Certainly no military intervention, as Im not exactly the biggest fan of the American government installing power structures in other nations. Particularly not with the nature of our own current internal problems.

I suppose we could send aid, but for obvious reasons, that would just be supporting the current regime there and would be unlikely to ever get to the people that need it.

I hope you applying sarcasm here. Cuba may have a lot of doctors but don't have access to even the most basic of medicines, even the most mundane supplies are lacking such as food. And the individual Cuban I saw being beaten by 6 goons in uniform would likely argue his good health if he even could but he was not moving after they moved to the next Cuban and the crowd was screaming that they killed him.

The "refugees" I have seen crossing our southern border appear to be in better health than I am, after all they just crossed a desert in the summer, traveled from other countries thousand of miles to do that, I am not sure I could cross a desert.

I'll be blunt.

Our political leadership and their bootlicking followers are cowards.

We're in a nanny-state now and people are eating this up.

When you have politicians and morons calling the flag, the National Anthem, the Founding Fathers, racist, then we've reacked "Peak Retard".

They think that freedom, individuality, liberty and rights are racist and wrong so of course they'll hate any talk of freedom.

Bluntness appreciated and Starred

I do not see how it can possibly end well. Heck, I lived through the 60's and this feels nothing like that. There were always folks itching for a fight with the Hippies, but they were at least smart enough not to give it to them

The RW is a powerful force to be reckoned with. Heavily armed, outnumbering every military in the world combined. And yet, incrementalism has a way of slipping past our radar. But when violent militant leftists show up knocking for a fight...well that is a heck of a good way to mobilize and energize the entire massive group of fed up patriots

Because not denouncing something endlessly & repeatedly is the same as condoning it, right?

Isn't that what the left always says?

Not accusing YOU of saying that personally, I personally enjoy speaking with you on here. But you have to admit, its always funny when they get a taste of their own medicine

Look I'll concede the point to you daskakik, if it will help, just find it very ironic is all
