Well...okay, but the socialism that AOC ascribes to isn't really socialism either, not in the true form anyway; it's more like halfway between socialism and communism (more towards communism). And, if you could take her costume off and give her a dose of truth serum, she'd be 100% onboard with straight-up communism. The only reason she isn't that way now is because she knows she'd never get elected if she showed her true colors.

Consequently, AOC's posture on Cuba and toward the Cuban people isn't really an accurate reflection of her true political ideology. If she had her way, a clone of Karl Marx would be head of state here in the USA, and the CRT proles would be chasing white people through the streets with pitchforks much the same way the Russian proletariat did with the monarchy in 1917.

I disagree with almost everything Karl Marx ever said, but there is one thing he said which I believe is accurate; the notion that socialism can exist in the absence of communism is a pure utopian fantasy. Socialism is nothing more than a polite form of communism (for those who are stupid enough to go along with the charade). It's communism-lite. Socialism is just a 'temporary' fantasy (for liberals)...until the money runs out. Then, the only way order can be maintained is through communism. Venezuela is a classic example. You can also now see cracks in the façade of socialism in NW Europe too. And, it won't be long before you start seeing similar issues in Canada.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that. Not really contesting your underlying point that the OP really doesn't accurately reflect AOC's public statements. It's more just the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing thing that I was responding to regarding AOC.

C/O Sky News Australia

Sky News in Australia hit some great points here. Namely, all those who shed crocodile tears when their beloved Fidel Castro finally kicked off and joined the devil himself in he## predictably spoke against the freedom revolution fomenting in Cuba.

Turns out, folks in Cuba are fed up with the American left's ideal government system (communism) and want to replace it with one that actually works. IE: one that doesn't result in a failed state with mass death/starvation/torture at the hands of the state

Shockingly, the same ones who peddle this "illegal aliens come here!!" BS have spoke about turning away Cuban defectors. Wonder why that is? Certainly nothing to do with their typical voter fraud schemes, et al.

As if to divinely illustrate my point, a photograph of Ocrazio shows up as the video preview Ha Ha
Is there any chance any of these Cuban refugees, er, um, dissidents coming to the US or at least espousing their views are descendants of the same Cubans we sent to infiltrate their own government using the CIA?

Asking for the Universe and it’s cruel and ironic sense of humor….

Cuba isn't sending anyone, they do everything they can to prevent it. Their best are definitely trying to flee though.
When you say “their best” is that referring to sympathies, brain power, political leaning and free-thinking and potentially “troublesome” individuals, or…..?

I’m curious. Genuinely.

Care to elaborate?

as with any immigrants from any country, there are some decent Cubans that have immigrated to the U.S., and there are some others, just like other countries that are nothing but sh@@birds.

i can't remember exactly, but if i recall there were two mass exodus of Cubans, one was, the Mariel boat lift where Castro made sure that many of his sh@@birds were on the boats.

another thing about Cubans then and now many are convicted of crimes in Cuba, that would not be considered crimes in non communist countries.

It's a standard ruse.

Democrats want to take credit for any Cuba changes because Cubans in America mostly favor (R)s not (D)s.

Just more PR Democrat bulls#t that people will gobble up🤣🤣

She really is a democratic socialist in everything she says. Moreover, 99% of the time i agree with the issues she points out. Where we diverge is typically in solutions, because im not democratic socialist.

I dont hear her push fascist notions. She lies like a politician, but thats about it. Shes not even stupid. Shes pretty smart. But she has stupid ideas she promotes.

You are aware of who pulls her stings, right?

She was "made" by the Justice Democrats. As were many of the "squad" if not all of them. It's a soft coup that has a long term goal. Very smart people put to in place, and they are patient. It's important that everyone who has an opinion on here know all of it. (IMHO)

I am not sure what the surprise is. Having talked with many leftest throughout my life it is apparent that most are either naive (or dumb) as hell and only understand things in life that impact them personally. For others, it is like a social club they have to be onboard with and just follow the bullcrap fantasies they are given by their professors and social media.

What is that called again? Oh yeah, Virtue Signaling.

They don't have to understand it, they only have to know that they are "the good guys" spouting this crap and that they can get some pats on the head for being with the program.

www.urbandictionary.com...

Virtue signaling describes a behavior of an individual openly seeking attention and external validation by ostentatiously pronouncing (generally through the use of social media) themselves to the world as someone possessing high moral values for a trivial decision made or action taken.

See? That's just it, she doesn't have any solutions. Democratic socialists are just utopians, they don't, and they can't, have solutions to problems without communism. That's how the game works; you use socialism to erode the foundation and gather momentum, then you use communism as the stake through the heart of capitalism. This is the end-game.

AOC and other's like her have to sell socialism to the masses first. They can't start out trying to sell communism. First you sell socialism, then once you've got momentum with the whole socialist thing you enrage those masses and demonize your opponents with class warfare. Once you've got everyone shouting shouting from every rooftop how "unfair" everything is, and what bastages the people are who have it, then you give them the pitchforks and tell them to start a revolution to "take back" what is rightfully theirs to begin with.

Remember, these are the same people who are burning the history books. There's a reason for that, you know. The last thing they want is for people to start picking up a history book and realizing they are following the exact same script, line by line, of a 104 year old playbook. This time though, the proles won't be armed with pitchforks. They'll be armed with attorneys and tax laws.

ETA - The lynchpin to the game, and the overarching strategy, is to not run out of money and bankrupt the nation before everyone starts figuring out the grand illusion. That's the trick.

It is the optics I am worried about, why is it so hard for them to denounce the Cuban dictatorship and support freedom/liberty in Cuba? Nobody is asking her to renounce her left wing credentials, just call it like it is Cuba's dictatorship is an immoral, self serving, tyrannical nightmare.

I think the folks in Cuba deserve better. Especially from the US - they are actually fleeing political persecution! IE: one of the very few groups eligible for true asylum

That's just it BFFT, she is right on many of the things she says. I hate to say it but its true. The problem is her god awful "solutions" that always amount to outright theft, taxation, class warfare and stoking tensions. There are ways to solve the over-concentration of wealth, such as incentivizing more citizens to buy into publicly traded corporations. It isn't a scam, truly, I am about as middle class as it gets and I have made a mint trading stock especially defense stock (Raytheon, Lockheed, sold before they dropped..great time to buy again)

That's one of many ways. I just know the tune of socialism she is pushing is not a real solution to anything. Its just more pie in the sky

All I know about the country (before this week) is what I've seen during the GodFather. Lots of parties, great cigars, and no B.S..

My kind of place too.

Perfect movie reference carewemust

I love it up here, but I sure could get used to falling asleep on the beach with a cigar in a hurry

I actually found Cuban cigars for sale once. Didn't buy any and regretted it ever since
