You guys are ridiculous... they aren't communist. Let's use words that have meanings. Not based on your subjective fee fees.

I may not agree with some of your views, but I agree on this. Cuba is not a communist country. There's actually a fair amount of entrepreneurs, private businesses, and western-style capitalism. I think people still say Cuba is a communist country because of the decades-long ties to Russia?

That's something I've always found hilarious as saying 'communism' is some system that erodes 'democracy'. Yet where ever capitalism thrives the deficit created elsewhere completely destroys the democracy. Is capitalism really 'democratic'? Hell, I don't even think classic capitalism exists anymore, neither does socialism, empty shells of their former self.

Again, we agree. The world is now one giant corporatocracy.

USD IS the worlds reserve currency. You don't use the USD for everyday currency needs in say India.
But India needs to trade on the world stage based on the USD.

Remember when Saddam and Gaddafi went off the USD as a reserve currency started off loading treasury bonds and switched to gold standard... remember when China is doing almost exactly that now? Interesting...

Well yeah you have to protect empires

All im saying is, if the US wasn't protecting its empire somebody else would be protecting their own in the same manner, not sure if youve noticed but thats pretty much how the world worked since we come out of caves

Funny isn't it.... embargoes and sanctions don't hurt nations, apparently. Meanwhile the US has a choke-hold on planet earth by enslaving entire nations into unpayable amounts of 'debt'.

So did the countries take on debt or did they not?

Once Communism is worldwide those morons can sleep in the bed they made which is filled to the brim with bed bugs and pee stains. Oh wait.... They'll own nothing and like it right?

What kind of imbecile even relishes the thought of such insanity?

Maybe we should export BLM to Venezuela? Once they all get robbed at gunpoint or maimed I think they'd have a wake-up call. Then again this is BLM we are talking about so who knows what happens when they rub two brain cells together (when applicable).

BLM literally celebrate opposite day, every day it seems so I guess there is one way to correlate their beliefs.

That's right those weres socialist missile bases, they were COMMUNIST PUPPET state till Moscow got tired of them. It was so full of people seeking asylum was why they had the Marlito Boatlift. Does a socialist state usually have to grant permission for its citizens to leave?

But the original 10,000 grew and grew to where Castro threw a hissy fit and released all the criminals and misfits too.

en.wikipedia.org...

Regardless The Cuban government organized acts of repudiation against those who wished to leave the island. Mobs would sometimes beat their targets, force them to walk around with accusatory signs on their necks, or trash their homes.[24]

The Cuban government facilitated an emigration process that gave special privileges to those deemed socially undesirable. People deemed "homosexual" would be allowed to leave the country. Those with gender non-conforming behavior were especially targeted by authorities for departure. Some of them were given the option between emigration and jail time, in order to encourage their departure from the island. Many Cubans would enter police stations to declare their homosexual behavior so as to be granted permission to leave the country.[25]

In response to the open arms policy, Castro called for the deportation of convicted criminals, the mentally ill, homosexuals, and prostitutes. Carter then called for a blockade on the flotilla by the US Coast Guard. At least 1,400 boats would be seized, but many slipped by, and over 100,000 more Cuban and Haitian refugees continued to pour into Florida over the next five months. The Mariel Boatlift would end by agreement between the United States and Cuba in October 1980.

Here is your Prime Minister of Cuba

Manuel Marrero Cruz (born 11 July 1963) is a Cuban politician currently serving as the Prime Minister of Cuba, and the first since Cuba resurrected the office of the Prime Minister in December 2019 after the 43-year abolishment of the position from 1976 to 2019. The last Prime Minister before the abolishment in 1976 was Fidel Castro.[1] Marrero is the first person to hold the position of Prime Minister of Cuba in 43 years.[2] A member of the Communist Party of Cuba, he served as the country's long-time Minister of Tourism from 2004 until his appointment to the office of Prime Minister in December 2019.[3] During his tenure as tourism minister, Cuban tourism witnessed massive resilience. Marrero is an architect[4] and worked in Gaviota, the tourism arm of the Cuban military, where he also held the rank of colonel.[5]

Dude, you'll never get communists to admit that communism is bad.

Communists think that communism would succeed if only everyone cooperated.

It's a twisted thought process that belongs to diseased minds, but we have an entire generation thinking it's awesome.

"communist parties" are 'elected' into place, and there's a head of that party.

I love this idea that 'communist' nations have corrupt elections, that the local level voting rights to the people 'don't matter'.
Like such corruption doesn't happens in the 'west'. And the US basically has monarchies of feuding bourgeois power trips.

Someone already pointed out the harsh reality in this thread. That the US as an empire needs to protect it's status... Think about that for a second. Put the puzzle together.

It's a shame here we are arguing over such ridiculous political (probably very slightly different) differences, yet they hold true to the same level of demanding subordination by just a few... a tale as old as time.

Protests in Cuba to continue as the country temporarily lifts restrictions on food and medicine imports
Demonstrators in Cuba continue their protest efforts as the country stares down a period of economic crisis brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, the government announced that it was temporarily lifting restrictions on the amount of food and medicine travelers could bring into the country in what Reuters is calling a "small concession to demands by protesters." Additional protests have erupted in solidarity with the struggling nation across other Latin American communities, including Miami, Mexico City and more.
