Just breaking....hearing on Fox right now. He submitted his resignation this morning.

From what is being reported, his letter says that Trump requested that he resign.

Must have been planned for just after midterms.

Letter of resignation.

And now being said Whitaker is replacing Sessions.

Didn't we all kind of suspect that was coming?

Called it. Expect a Trump loyalist to be given the position. Now we'll have to wait and see what happens with Rosenstein.

Well, I can't find it listed yet, but its not that shocking of a revelation. There's been a dozen threads over the last 2 months detailing that exact chain of events (Sessions Quits, Trump hires an AG who isn't afraid to fire Rosenstein/Mueller, and viola, Mueller problem is gone).

Good on you for being the first to list it for us though.

Wonder how long till the democrats rush in to extoll the virtue of the guy purely because he no longer works for Trump.

Of course. With the dems controlling the house, he has to consolidate power. Sessions is a body bag that does nothing. Gonna need to doj to do some house oversight.

From what they are reporting, Trump asked him to resign and it is directly related to the Declassification of the FISA stuff.

This is going to explode.

Wow that was fast.
So is this because of mueller? I had read that it was because he would not move to change the status of a certain plant on the schedule list.
Lots of money to be made in that area I hear, stocks, startups and such.

An obvious move he needs someone in office who can shut down congressional probes. Sessions took himself out of the investigations meaning there is no one to authorize investigations. Normally the Meuller probe would not have used an independent counsel. This should have been handled in the AGs office from the beginning. Who he chooses will be interesting if he picks someone with little or no credentials it will cause him problems maybe including obstruction. But if he chooses a qualified candidate he should be ok
