in the abolition of capitalism in favor of an economy run either by “the workers” or the state — though the exact specifics of “abolishing capitalism” are fiercely debated by socialists.
But DSA members also say that overthrowing capitalism must include the eradication of “hierarchical systems” that lie beyond the market as well. As a result, DSA supports the missions of Black Lives Matter, gay and lesbian rights, and environmentalism as integral parts of this broader “anti-capitalist” program.
"I have three kids. Two of them are daughters — one just graduated college, one who is in college. And they were both texting me about their excitement over Alexandria because she really — she represents the future of our party," Perez said on "The Bill Press Show."

The DNC Chair doesn't represent every Democrat just like Trump doesn't represent every Republican. This logic where one person's opinion = every other person's opinion who shares some of the same beliefs is retarded.

I was a socialist before it was cool.
Ocasio-Cortez is the future of the party because she's the future of America. Millenials; those underpaid, over-educated, avocado toast-eating voters are fed up with the world they've been left with. They like Bernie Sanders, they like socialism because capitalism has left them behind. Their wages don't match the buying power of their parents, they can't afford housing because their jobs don't pay enough to cover their student loans and everyone writes them off as 'too young and naive.'
Minorities are becoming the majority across the nation and 'working hard' just isn't a reality for enough people, some of whom have grown up watching their parents work two or more jobs and are barely able to scrape by. Their futures are bleak and they're running for office. They are the future.
Please name all the countries where socialism is bringing about a booming economy, vibrant working class and no government corruption.....oh yes...and isn't going broke and raising taxes above 50%.......waiting.".
abolish ICE, expand Medicare, offer universal healthcare, tuition-free public colleges and trade schools and have the government cancel student loans that it holds and pay off privately held student loans.

I'd say, if true, then good. The 2016 election was pretty much an indictment against the status quo in the DNC. This fact has been reinforced in elections since, like this one in New York and the one in Virginia a few months back.
I know people on this site like to act like the DNC going further Left will kill them. But don't forget that during the primaries every poll showed that Sanders was the only candidate that could beat Trump. So there is clearly a large base that will approve of these ideas.
Not only that but look at what happened with the GOP. Going further Right with the Tea Party brought them back from the brink and gave them the control they have today. Who's to say the same won't work for the Left.
The DNC clearly needs to make a change and going Right isn't really an option. I mean establishment Democrats like Clinton are already indistinguishable from establishment Republicans.
This is what the DNC needs to do to survive. So in that sense she is the future of the party.

Yes this sort of movement might not kill the DNC, but it will guarantee if you keep going this direction that the American people never elect another one to the white house
