I actually laughed out loud!

If I share it with any rotary-wing guys, I'll credit an anonymous skunkape on the internet.

Pity the poor crew. They'll have to live for the rest of their lives with the fact that an elk caused them to crash their chopper.

I can't believe that I just typed that. Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes.

I'm guessing they hired some Aussies for the job because it's a common practice to heard live stock using helicopters down under.

A former co-worker of mine was a Kiowa avionics tech in the Army stationed in AK. He had some rather comical stories of wildlife encounters between the Kiowa's and moose. Lets just say they like to charge across the flight line at night and their rack are at the same height as the spinning rotor blades.

The aussies never fail to impress.
I thought a dirt-bike and fire-crackers was high-tech.

The Aussies need to stick to wrestling alligators and boxing kangaroos. I bet a kangaroo can take out a helicoptor too, maybe they think that elk are not as good jumpers as Kangaroos, A deer can jump over an seven foot fence from a standing position.

That would have been a mess if it went through a prop.
