I was lucky enough to be invited to the press preview for RAF Cosford yesterday to see the preparations for tomorrow’s air show. Here’s a link to a photo gallery I made. Most display aircraft were yet to arrive, but hopefully you’ll find the photos interesting.

Your IDK’s, top to bottom, are a Fouga Magister, French basic trainer, Hunting Jet Provost T.4, UK basic trainer, Grumman OV-1 Mohawk, US Elint type and the last one looks to me like an Aero L-59 Albatross with the front cockpit missing. But it seems to have R2D2 in the back

Not my photos.
Sent from LT. E.K. line officer AARF Pittsburgh international airport.

Story goes...

Went outside yesterday Jun 8th 2018 10am est. To enjoy a day on the deck when I saw an A10 flying over quietly. Didn't have time to grab my camera... rolls eyes.

20 mins later my brother in-law calls up telling me how they parked in front of the bay doors at airport fire waiting on an Embrair for an Alert.

Anyway, E. Was telling me about the conversation between the Tower and another pilot that was taxiing at the time.

Where was the pilot from, family, most 'G's pulled, where was the next destination....
What does any of this have to do with waiting on an Embrair? Answer... nothing😁 pilot gave the Call Sign "SWINE".
Then this taxiid by.....

Is that R2D2 in there?

lol.

All I gots is this.

I haven't been to an airshow in over 50 yrs.

My dad was into it and as a kid I wanted to be a pilot. Didn't end up meeting the physical requirements.

I had a model B-29 I bought at a prison gift shop. Long story.

Can't recall seeing this pic on here before. Doesn't make it less awesome though.

Yf-23 and B2

Sorry for the link, it wouldn't let me upload and embed it for some reason.

Took the kids to Paine field today for father's day to check out what was going on over there. Found a random Antinov AN-124 of all things and no less than 14 KC-46's in various stages of assembly.

Snuck in some non aviation pics.

Blasphemy!

I so want a Long E-Z. There were a couple F-15 pilots that flew a couple off the North Shore in Hawaii. They'd go out over the water and dogfight.

It helps to have fuel.

Every Long EZ is home built. It might be a good idea to know the builder. ;-) Mike Melvill got his job with Rutan somewhat related to the Long EZ he built.

There are a few clones of the Long EZ. Isn't the Varieze supposed to be an upgrade.
